Dr. Justin Salerian is the current Fellow in Vascular Neurology at Tulane University Medical Center. He is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his Neurology residency training at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC; in his final year he served as Chief Resident. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Newark Beth Israel in New Jersey, where he was awarded Intern of the Year. His interests in Neurology are broad ranging including neuro-immunology (MS), epilepsy/ EEG, and stroke. As for his research interests, Dr. Salerian is currently a co-primary investigator on a clinical trial testing a new neuroprotection strategy in stroke. Notably, prior to medical school, Dr. Salerian was a paramedic and a film maker. He spent a year in South Africa as paramedic, and then wrote and directed a critically acclaimed documentary inspired by this experience. The film is called Tell Me and I Will Forget; it has been on Netflix and film festivals around the world.
