Updated visitor policy

Effective: August 1, until further notice

Tulane Health System recognizes and supports the contribution made by family/support persons to the patient at a time of recovery from illness or injury. To help reduce the spread of respiratory illness, patients (inpatient and outpatient) will be limited to only one visitor at a time during visiting hours.

  • General visiting hours are from 6:00am – 8:00pm, however, unit/department-specific guidelines may vary depending on the patient population, acuity, unit activity, and patient privacy considerations.

All visitors to Tulane Health System hospitals must follow these directions while in the facility:

  • Properly wear the provided Level 1 mask at all times
  • Maintain social distancing of at least six feet from others
  • Wash hands or use hand sanitizer when entering or exiting patient rooms

Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to provide assistance with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.
